Our mobile phones policy

Mobile Telephones

As a general rule, pupils are not allowed to have mobile telephones in school. We recognise that, from time to time, circumstances may arise where a parent expressly wishes for their child to bring a mobile phone to school. In these cases we are happy to grant permission, subject to the following restrictions:-

  • Prior permission is sought (note, telephone call) by the parent at least the day before;
  • The telephone is handed in to the school office, with a note of the child’s name, at the beginning of school. It will be held safely until it can be collected when the child leaves school.
  • The school does not accept responsibility for the security of mobile telephones before they are handed in and after they are collected from the office. Neither will valuable curriculum time be spent in tracking down missing phones.
  • If a mobile phone is being used inappropriately it will be taken away from the pupil and kept until an adult collects it.

 Parents and children must understand that they are brought to school wholly at your risk. Bringing them to school is considered your acceptance of this policy.
