About our school...
Drapers Mills Primary School serves the area bordering the Millmead estate in the Kent coastal town of Margate. It is a school that is proud of its achievements and the importance it places on the welfare and progress of its pupils. The school declares that it is a place where every child really matters and that belief is central to its work. Above all, Drapers Mills is a happy school where its pupils achieve well.

Little Millers Nursery offers a Maintained Nursery, offering five free two-and-a-half hour sessions each week plus a Registered Day Care facility offering extended day care from 8.00 to 5.00 at reasonable rates.

We hold the Quality in Study Support (QISS) Mark for the quality of our extra curricular provision
Mrs Parsons, one of our HLTAs was a national finalist, awarded a distinction in the 2007 Teaching Awards
We are the lead school in a TDA Partnership Development project with Christ Church University, providing quality placements for trainee teachers.
We are proud to be a member of the Thanet Excellence Cluster, a partnership of schools working together to raise achievement, realise potential and promote wellbeing. Excellence Clusters are part of the government's Excellence in Cities programme for raising standards.
The school also houses the offices of KCC Education Clusters Thanet 1 and 2 , The Margate office of the Primary Intervention Programme (PIP+), the Thanet office of Kent Safe Schools and the Thanet Excellence Cluster.
